Sunrises have always been captivating for me. That transition through the twilights into blue then golden hours, and finally daylight are both soothing and thrilling.

Geese and ducks on a lake beginning to take off as sunrise approaches. The low clouds in the distance are orange from approaching sunrise, while clear sky overhead is blue. Jet contrail are reflected in the lake.

This is pretty cool, that cone / teepee looking structure in the left foreground is a late 19th century Diné (Navajo) wikiup.

A color landscape photo of a very large block of tan-red sandstone. It is eroded with deep vertical groves. the cliff face is sheer with very little rubble at the base. The foreground is sagebrush and a couple of small pinon pine trees. In the left foreground is the remains of a Native-American wikiup, teepee shaped framework of large branches stacked to form a cone. When it was in use an hundred and fifty years ago, it was covered with hides.

Each sunrise is unique - new photons, changes in atmosphere, different you (mentally and physically). They are not always vivid orange-red-yelllow. These variations make sunrise chases a joy. Sometimes the big camera and lens are inadequate to capture the moment. An iPhone photo.

Since I'm fully retiring from my semi-retired part-time job (2 - 6hr days/wk) at the end of the month I thought I'd frame several items for myself while I can still get an employee discount.

This is the chop room where we chop the molding legs to size. I'm chopping in-stock molding. Black looks best with B&W photos & is also inexpensive. 1/12

Below and somewhat tucked under the bench top is a green colored metal machine that is a foot operated chopper for chopping the forty-five degree angles on the end of the picture frame molding. There's a trashcan to the right under the bench and a white bucket on the left with blocks of wood in it.

Smoky sunrise. Sunrise at the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve a couple of years ago.

There were multiple wind-driven wildfires yesterday afternoon and night. One moved into the town of Mannford and claimed several buildings and homes. Air quality with dust and smoke hit 333 at 01:00 CDT this morning. Coverage, other than local news and spotters, was dismal. The fires did not make it to INCIWeb or MODIS. Only the Infrared satellites and the GOES-East Fire Temperature maps showed the fires. That lack of information made it difficult to keep friends without TV access informed.
