starbase80.wtf is one of the many independent Mastodon servers you can use to participate in the fediverse.
Just because we believe in Starfleet's ideals and values doesn't mean we're serious and professional. There's a reason we ended up at Starbase 80.

Outside Landers, California, is a bizarre domelike structure called the Integratron. It was built between 1959 and 1978 by a former test pilot, engineer and UFO enthusiast, who claimed he received instructions from the planet Venus. The structure was built at a special location apparently influenced by alignments from the Great Pyramid and the nearby Native American sacred monument of Giant Rock. The builder of the Integratron claimed it was capable of time travel, defying gravity and rejuvenating human cells via electromagnetics. Following the creator's death, there were plans to turn the dome into a disco, but it was bought by two sisters who believed the 'acoustically perfect structure' could offer healing 'sound baths'. #folklore #weird #architecture #UFO #psychogeography #bizarre #California

Neighborhood apps are loud with people talking about UFOs ever since the national coverage in New Jersey.

It’s just people discovering the night sky for the first time.

I’ve been staring at the sky for as long as I can remember.

There is nothing new. And everything.

Interestingly, while I did find lots of articles and stuff about this connection, I didn’t not find anything about this folder tab label.

Either it’s widely unknown, or I’m like Christopher Columbus in this discovery. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Either way, I feel a little pride in unearthing it. If even only for myself.

Made a discovery that probably everybody knows but I didn’t so chill.

I’m watching X-Files. Tiny scene when Mulder is flipping through a file cabinet. I see this as the scene changes.

“Did I just see what I think I saw?” I rewind, pause, and…bam! It’s blurry, but it’s def “Foo Fighters.”

I look it up. In WWII this is what they called UFOs. Yeah. X-Files, Foo Fighters…🤯

The recent #drone sightings and news media's half-assed reporting, to me, clearly illustrate the impossibility of sorting fact from fiction in today's media landscape.

Just look at the way everybody is making up their own narrative based on some data, no data, shoddy data, conspiracy theories, and mealymouthed statements from government officials.

Every official stating what these are NOT. No official stating what they ARE. And virtually no pressure from the media to clarify.

Let the public fight about what's real and what's fake. You don't even need to obfuscate. You just wait for people to move onto the next shiny object--and this tactic, sadly, will work.

What are these things? What the hell is going on?

Literally nobody knows anything, and there's not enough reliable data or reporting to conclude a damn thing. We're just in the dark, as usual.
