Wild Horse of Shackleford Banks
Shackleford Bank, Cape Lookout National Seashore, North Carolina, United States

This was the only one I saw that had a white mane. Most were red brown with a brown mane. I also saw one that was almost black.

“Young amethyst deceiver”

Amethyst deceiver is a small brightly colored mushroom.

Because its bright amethyst coloration fades with age and weathering, it becomes difficult to identify, hence the common name “deceiver”.
