Just because we believe in Starfleet's ideals and values doesn't mean we're serious and professional. There's a reason we ended up at Starbase 80.

DANG THAT'S IT

WOW Y'ALL I just watched every fucking Star Trek ever. it's been a wild ride, thanks for following along with me!

as previously discussed, I'm now going to rewatch #TheMagicians for the billionth time, cry a lot, and probably not post about it (and no @serge, I'm probably not gonna watch Babylon 5 anytime soon)

I'll be back with more Star Trek opinions once the new seasons drop, but until then this is it 💜

#StarTrek #ShortTreks Calypso theory...

So they tied up Calypso in Discovery. Sent out to wait. Craft being a name mentioned in relation to this mission, for which she's restored, at least cosmetically, to her 23rd Century configuration.

Why? Was it just to put Discovery in a position to meet Craft? Or was it more about making sure Craft survives for something he would do later rather than simply encountering Discovery?

Perhaps, as will happen from time to time to varying degrees... at some point the Federation gets off track again. Maybe corruption, maybe the Pathway Drive goes horribly wrong like Warp did and shit falls apart, leading to Craft fighting them.

But encountering a Federation starship, from the old days, could sow the seeds in his mind that there's something at the core of the Federation that is valuable and worth restoring, between putting that in Crafts mind and USS Discovery reappearing... they can get things back on track.

Kovich, for reasons I won't mention openly, might be able to see those events coming and find a string he could pull to fix it without breaking anything. Possibly less preserving the timeline than steering it.
