I created this account a few years ago but never really used it…

Time for a proper #introduction

I was Born in 1972, am married, no children.

I work as a Game Developer for Lab4Games, a collective of board game publishing studios (Days of Wonder, Space Cowboys, Libellud, Repos Prod, Next Move).

A fan of #boardgames (and #poker), I’m also into #movies (mainly #sci-fi and #fantasy), #novels, #comics, and #TVshows.
Basically, a geek in a nutshell...

I also practice #Archery and #NordicWalking.

Still not quite sure how all this works, so bear with me—sorry if I miss anything!

Hey Mastodon, my name is Dana! I have a passion for video games, reading, and working to make the world a better place; for myself and all generations to follow.
I work for a non-profit called Jennifer Ann's Group. Our mission is to prevent teen dating violence through awareness, education, and advocacy. Part of how we accomplish this is by creating video games to help teach teens about key protective factors and building healthy relationships. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Esports Management and have been working to spread awareness about our Gaming Against Violence program.

(Emerges from shed.) This past year I have mostly been drawing, going back to basics and learning what I probably should have 30 years ago had I gone to art school. I've used Instagram to post a few results along the way but thought I'd revive this dormant account to keep my four loyal followers amused. Hello you.

First off, hand study, graphite and chalk on hand-toned paper. This was a finalist in the Raw Umber Studios People's Choice Award, March 2025.

I hit the incredible mark of 2K. How? I really don't know. I'm not the most social person here. I mainly post selfmade photos, sometimes boost, am a mega-liker and occasionally smurf a comment.

But I'm still amazed at getting the same vibes here as logging on to #oldskool bulletin boards. So I really would like to thank all of you who follow me here

I’ve jumped to Mastodon after realising (again) how toxic big tech is. Trump and Musk’s obsession with controlling social media sealed it—I miss when it was about connecting, not just a tool for the rich to twist public opinion.

Having been on Mastodon, for approaching three years it really is time to introduce myself. I understand that I need a few pinned posts to ensure my account appears active when people on other servers see toots of mine that others have boosted.

My profile remains accurate with one possible exception. My first use of the #compost hashtag almost doubled my number of followers, so these days I tend to keep folk informed of how I manage and use leaf fall and other vegetation that grows in our grounds (you really can't call it a garden).

I think it's time for a re-introduction!

Hello fediverse! I am an admin for Veganism.Social, VoIP engineer, sim-racer with @ethixracing, gamer, foodie, and long-time ethical vegan. I'm originally from South Florida, but now living in the Orlando area as of 2020. I'm usually not a very social person, but I'm trying to change that! I want to make a difference in the world, and one person cannot do that alone, so connecting with others is essential.

My political and ethical views are all centered around equality, compassion, and environmental protection. I am anti-capitalist, but I also understand that it's impossible in the current state of society to avoid participating in it. So I try to make the best decisions I can with the options given to me in order to minimize the harm it causes.

Humans and animals all over the world are facing troubling times, and thinking about it has taken a massive toll on my mental health. Now, I am trying to focus my efforts on things that I can change, rather than spreading myself too thin and not helping at all. This doesn't mean I'm ignoring all of the other suffering, but simply trying to prioritize based on what is within my reach.
